YHA History
In 2007, we held our very first exhibit in a small yellow house in St. Charles, IL., during the Downtown Fine Art Show.
For the last 18 years, we have exhibited our framed, gallery-quality, paintings in many local galleries and exhibition spaces in northwest Illinois.
Browse our website, visit our members individual gallery pages, and consider becoming a member. We have year-round activities with a calendar of planned events listed on our site.
Let us know if you are interested in purchasing any of our members' paintings.
Yellow House Artists is proud to present our first online exhibition - 2025

Note to YHA members: Want to add some of your oil pastel or oil stick paintings to this website?
As a YHA member you can make a "Collection" of your art work on this website. Contact Carol Zack through Messenger, Messages, or email, and send some photos of your oil pastel artwork, or oil stick artwork, and she will add the images you send and post then in a separate collection that's all your own.
The work does not have to be for sale and there is no additional charge to have your work be shown on the site. Quality photos with titles and sizes are invaluable. You and Carol Zack will work together to make that happen. We want to showcase your artwork and give you and your artwork additional visibility. Some of our members have already added their paintings to our YHA website. Having artwork rotated frequently is ideal to have something new to look at. Using the website to share your work with friends and family is also a fun and an easy way to share your artwork. We are anxious to showcase the membership talent.
Newsletters
In order to get the Newsletter, you must subscribe to it on the YHA website. Newsletters are emailed to you and also posted in two places on the YHA website. They are located in the "Blog" section of the site and under "Newletters/Read Past Issues"- Check it out. The newsletter provides all the events and activities and provides a great way to feel connected.
Events
Events and art activities, like annual exhibits, are planned every year and designed to value-add to your understanding and appreciation of painting in general and oil pastel and oil stick specifically. These events are posted in our monthly newsletters that are sent monthly via email. The newsletters are also posted on the YHA website. To participate, many events require an rsvp and sometimes an added registration fee.
To participate, you will need to prepay online to register for the event, or send your check through US Mail to our treasurer.
For additional YHA information be sure to check out our YHA Facebook page for photo and membership activities as well.
You are also welcome to post information about your latest exhibit or post your latest oil pastel or oil stick painting.
